Victor 3 with Standard Blade and Boltaron Sheath (Right Handed)
The Victor 3 is a knife years in the making. The original Victor was a well built, robust knife made for serious work. Living up to its predecessor, the Victor 3 Knife is available in 3 blade variations - Standard, Serrated, and Sawback.
Some time in the early 90’s The Victor Knife caught Bill Geissele’s eye and was added to his collection. For many years Bill searched for more information as to the history of this prized possession.
When Bill started Abraham & Moses Geissele, He introduced his new Knife series at the 2017 Blade Show. While at the show, he placed his Victor knife at the A&M booth with a sign asking show goers about any information regarding the knife. A long time industry friend of Bill sees the sign and recalls back to an old magazine from 80’s that had this very item on it! Even better is that Bill’s friend, a collector and knife connoisseur still had this old magazine in his library.
Unfortunately, after coming so close to tracking down the original knife designer, Bill learned from Daniel Valois’ widow, Joy, that he had passed away in 2009. Joy also informed Bill that her late husband’s design sheets, plans and instructions were no longer available. After a brief conversation, Joy Valois gave Bill Geissele permission to update and re-engineer the Victor Knife.
Bill Geissele honors the Valois family by recreating a new version of his knife, now called the A&M Victor 3. It features a hollow ground bevel, which on top of decreasing the overall weight of the blade it eases sharpening and increases slicing performance. The blade is made from 440c stainless steel and sharpened at 21 degrees. The three types of blades feature a complete edge, an edge with partial serrations, and the third version offers a saw-back edge opposite the blade, inspired by old World War I bayonets. The A&M Victor 3 features a durable wood-laminate handle that ends with a design feature that allows for a saw and screw driver bit interface. A large brass hilt built for hammering and pounding is an eye catching detail that rounds up the overall look of this knife.
The Victor 3 is a knife that is full of features, built for hard work and honors it’s rich history and tradition.
We chose PD1, D2 and 440C for our lineup because of their superior wear resistance and toughness. These alloys stand up to the rigors of prolonged survival scenarios, when strength, edge quality, and long service life are top priorities. These materials only require basic care to continue looking great. Clean the blade after use with mild soap and water, then dry and apply a light coat of oil. Be mindful that more frequent care will be required in high humidity and salt water environments. These simple steps will help to prevent corrosion and keep the blade in top condition for years to come.
